Holistic Medicine
Holistic Medicine is a methodology and it is also a philosophy. The unifying principle is that "Consideration of all aspects of an individual's life and employing all of the practitioner's senses" is paramount in discovering the underlying dysfunction. Treatment is often a fusion of conventional and alternative medicine. When a holistic physician sees a patient, in addition to providing a comprehensive physical examination, he/she wants to find out all about a patients behavior, medical and dietary history, environment, emotional stressors (family, job, school, grief etc.), and other aspects of the persons life.
Acupuncture
Simply put, acupuncture is a ancient and mature system of complete health care which is utilized to successfully treat both pain and dysfunction in the body. Early Chinese physicians discovered there is an energy network running just below the surface of the skin that communicates from the exterior to the internal organs and structures at over 1,000 "acupoints" on the body. This energy works in harmony with the body's circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, genitourinary and all other systems of the body.
Chiropractic
The chiropractic care offered by Dr. Feldman is focused on maintaining the integrity and alignment of the spine. Good alignment allows the proper functioning of the central nervous system. Chiropractic is the kind of care that helps many types of spinal disorders, pain from various joints throughout the body, neck pain, and back pain.
Chiropractic care often eliminates the pain caused by herniated discs, sprains and strains, and injuries such as falls or car accidents. By using many different forms of spinal adjustment and joint mobilization, greater mobility can be achieved along with reduction of pain. Chiropractic care also has the ability to eliminate stress, by eliminating tension.
There exists a variety of chiropractic treatments. The traditional adjustment is delivered manually while other types of adjustments use an instrument such as an activator. Soft tissue manipulation uses acupressure and craniosacral techniques.
